Maggie Ferrato
Program Officer for Industry

Maggie Ferrato is a Program Officer for Industry at Climate Imperative. In this role, she develops strategies and manages a portfolio of grants to transform the global steel and aluminum industries.

Maggie comes to Climate Imperative from Breakthrough Energy’s U.S. policy team, where she advanced strategies to decarbonize heavy industry, including through grantmaking. She has also advocated for policy solutions to scale innovative climate technologies at Environmental Defense Fund and worked on energy and environment policy issues in the U.S. Senate.   

In addition to her policy experience, Maggie served at the United Nations to integrate the perspectives and priorities of young people into climate-related decision making, including by supporting the launch of the Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change in 2020.

Maggie holds a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Georgetown University.
