cut global carbon emissions
at speed and scale—to secure a better future for all
A central question of our time is how we transition our society to clean energy fast enough to confront the climate crisis. The short answer is designing and implementing energy policy in the world’s major emitting countries over the next decade.
Effective policies can reduce emissions at speed and scale, save money, create new jobs, and improve public health. Clean energy now costs less than fossil fuels, making it cheaper to save the Earth than to destroy it. Accelerating this transition at the pace the world’s scientists tell us is necessary to ensure a safe climate is the imperative we all face, and the mission Climate Imperative has undertaken.
This goal is now within reach thanks to several smart policy decisions: the United States’ Inflation Reduction Act, China’s 1+N climate policies, and the European Union’s Green Deal, to name a few.
But far more work remains to be done—and science tells us this is the key decade. Policy decisions that will be made over the next five years will determine if we win or lose on climate. By partnering with experienced organizations, Climate Imperative aims to ensure these critical decisions drive emissions reductions and secure a safe climate future.
