Jana Ariss is a Program Associate working on the Global Electricity Initiative.
She previously worked as a consultant advising clients on California environmental policy and regulation developments across sectors including solar, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, building decarbonization, and carbon sequestration. She provided technical expertise and direction for clients regarding the California Public Utilities Commission, California Air Resources Board, and California Energy Commission meeting rulings and proceedings. Prior to this, Jana worked on an environmental justice research project at Energy Solutions, where she analyzed the equitability of state and regional incentive programs for electric heat pump water heaters and the accessibility to equipment manufacturers in state-defined environmental justice communities.
Jana holds a B.S. in Environmental Economics and Policy from the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in San Diego and loves reading, working out, and spending time at the beach.
